LYCÉE FRANÇAIS DE SINGAPOUR
Inspired by the majestic existing landmark trees of the site, Lycée Français de Singapour is a poetic interpretation of childhood tapestry of vivid memories under the shade of lush canopies. An integration of work, learn and play within an outdoor living room, the Welcome Garden leads to the overlooking grand stairs. A celebratory ‘rain garden’ environment of natural boulders, large-leafed, indigenous plants creates signature views from the timber decks as the Woodland Garden. From ‘wild nature’ to structured edges, the Formal Garden’s simple rectangles transitions into staggered lines of hedges and punctuating columnar trees like French Gardens of old. Sensuous curves of the Botanic Learning Walk invites movement and engagement with plant groupings – a modern reinterpretation of French parterres. Along a softly winding bench, are natural resting areas and casual meeting zones that receive users from the Square, as well as Circle and Triangle play courts.
